Respiratory Therapy

Degree Type:  Associate of Applied Science

The Respiratory Therapy Program is designed so students can complete the professional courses within a 2-year period.

Graduates of this program are eligible to take the Therapist Multiple Choice (TMC) examination, administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).  Upon successful achieving a high cut score on the TMC, graduates are eligible to take the Clinical Simulation Examinations (CSE). Successful completion of the TMC exam will award the graduate with the CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) credential which is required before permanent state licensure can be issued. Graduates successfully passing the TMC and CSE will be awarded the credentials of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care

CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.”
