Summary
Southern University at Shreveport, Louisiana (SUSLA) is accepting applications for the Aerospace Certification/Duel Enrollment Instructor. SUSLA is a comprehensive community college serving Shreveport, Bossier City, and surrounding areas in Northwest Louisiana. It is one of five campuses constituting the Historically Black Southern University System. The University serves approximately 3,000 undergraduate students and offers 32 undergraduate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields including Allied Health, Nursing, Aerospace Technology, Business Studies, Behavioral Science/Education and Science & Technology.
Responsibilities
The Aerospace Certification/Duel Enrollment Instructor teaches all classroom and laboratory courses for sheet metal certification and all aviation maintenance courses as established by the program curriculum/high school dual enrollment and perform all other tasks/duties assigned by the center director.
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
This position
- Teach high school dual enrollment Airframe and Powerplant general courses.
- Instruct certification course for structural sheet metal assembly upon being certified
- Attend professional development courses annually
- Maintain aircraft hangar to include training equipment/manuals and curriculum
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- FAA A&P license
- At least, Associate degree preferred
- At least 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience
- General knowledge in structural sheet metal and instructing in aviation maintenance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work experience in aircraft maintenance/teaching
Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000
