Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Receives Award for Promoting Academic Excellence and Social Responsibility

Dr. Sharron Herron-Williams, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Southern University at Shreveport was presented the Fannie Lou Hamer and Kwame Nkrumah Award for Academic Leadership and Service in the African World during the 43rd Annual National Council for Black Studies Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 9, 2019. This award is the highest-level award given to an academic leader who is blazing trails and spearheading initiatives critical to the academic enterprise.  She currently serves as assistant editor of the International Journal of Africana Studies and will host the Southern Conference of African American Studies in February 2020.
