Financial Aid

The Southern University at Shreveport Financial Aid and Scholarships Office assists students in meeting their college expenses by administering programs of financial assistance.

The assistance is offered in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and student employment.Before being considered for any financial assistance students must apply and be accepted for admission to the University and have an official high school transcript or GED certification on file with the SUSLA Admissions Office.

All students must meet the University's Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements in order to receive financial assistance.

In addition, the student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and present a valid Student Aid Report (SAR) to the Financial Aid Office with copies of federal income tax forms, if required.

The FAFSA is found on-line at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Title IV Code 007686 must be entered in order for SUSLA to have access to your file. Students applying online should contact the Financial Aid Office at least two weeks after applying and request the ISIR to be downloaded.

Transfer students must submit official academic and financial aid transcripts from all schools previously attended. Beginning freshmen must submit an official high school transcript or GED.
