For Faculty

What is Success Coaching?

Student Success supports first and second year students through the college transition and in academic, personal, and professional development.  Success Coaches work with students in individual meetings and in group programming to help students learn about campus resources and develop strategies for success.

True to our “Opportunity Starts Here” Jesuit-inspired approach of caring for the whole person-body, mind and spirit-our proactive approach to success coaching provides holistic support and builds meaningful relationships between students and university faculty and staff.

Success Coaches also work with academic departments and campus partners to coordinate support efforts and identify strategies to help our students be successful while at SUSLA and beyond.

How can YOU help?

While working with first- and second-year students, encourage them to reach out to their Success Coach for assistance.  We are happy to help students connect with various campus resources, discuss goal setting, major exploration, and any questions the student might have that they are unsure where to go for help.  You can help students connect with us by:

Progress Reports

Several times throughout the semester you will receive a request to submit feedback regarding students in your class through a progress report in EAB Navigate.  Success Coaches use this feedback to support students through challenges and connect students with support available on campus.  To learn more about this process, check out our Progress Report information.
